I/We hereby pledge to be positive about my/our child’s youth sports experience and accept responsibility for participation and actions by following the following “Parents/Coaches Code of Conduct”:

I/We shall not: argue in front of the players, criticize in the background, be grand-stand manager; complain about anyone;

I/We shall: respect the rules of flag football & Miami Lakes Optimist; let the referees officiate the games; set an example of good sportsmanship for my/our child to follow, and support coaches & officials.

I/We will: keep comments, whether in-person or online, positive & ask my/our child to treat all players, coaches, fans & officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed or ability; support coaches & officials in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all; remember that all managers, coaches & committee members are volunteers.

I/we will: remember that our children learn more from actions than words and practice good sportsmanship by being respectful to players, parents, and coaches on both teams.

I/we will: be cognizant of the fact that all coaches are volunteers and work hard at what they do.

I/we acknowledge that failure to adhere to the Parents Code of Conduct will result in my child's removal from participating in this league. Disrespectful, argumentative, unsportsmanlike conduct or statements designed to undermine the league directed at other parents, coaches, referees, or league organizers constitute grounds for removal.

I/We will remember the game is for the kids, not the adults!
